Hi all,
Pre-Christmas meet at Charnwood Playing Fields- Saturday 14 December.
This is the final club meet until 18 January. There will be normal events, as well as special events such as an appearance from a man in a red suit, and visits from the Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service. Kids can choose to get wet. Age groups may even opt to replace an event with an untimed parents vs kids sprint.
This week’s set up roster is U12 from 7.30am. Other volunteers are welcome since we didn’t have a chance to remind parents on Saturday
This week is Modified Week 2. http://ginninderraathletics.com.au/week-2/. U11 High Jump is replaced by shot put and U12 High Jump is replaced by discus.
Start times- 8.45am for Tiny Tots, u6-u9.
10am for U10 and up including 18+ and community.
Ginninderra Athletes Shine at Australian All Schools Athletics Championships.
The following Ginninderra Athletes represented the ACT in Brisbane and did exceptionally well- Olivia Jose, Tashi Phuntsho, Riley Stanworth, Naomi Leitch, Aisha Shave, Daniel Nwaobi, Tobi Drummond- Templeton, Cody Blackman- Allen, Ryan Knight and Elijah Wilson (Team Captain).
Special Congratulations to our National Schools Champions
Aisha Shave- 1st in U16 200m Hurdles, 3rd in 200m, 2nd in 100m
Tobi Drummond- Templeton- 1st in U17 200m (meet record), 3rd in 100m
Elijah Wilson- 1st in U18 Shot Put, 2nd in discus.
Club Training at Charnwood Playing Fields
Wednesday from 4-5pm with coach Steve Dodt mostly focusing on Hurdles, Sprints and Throws
Brian’s bunch, with Brian Daly, meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.30 to 5.30pm. This squad focusses on distance training.
Thursday club training from 5-6pm with Gary and Geoff. These sessions cover a mixture of track and field events.
