How to Join

Thinking about joining Ginninderra Athletics? Whether you’re a Tiny Tot taking your first steps on the track, a teenager chasing a personal best, or an adult looking to stay active and connected, there’s a place for you at Ginninderra. We welcome athletes of all ages and abilities, and provide a supportive environment that balances fun, fitness, and skill development. Joining is easy — and with access to regular Saturday meets, training opportunities, and a vibrant club community, you’ll be part of something special from your very first session.

Saturday Mornings

Saturday mornings at Charnwood Oval are the heartbeat of Ginninderra Athletics. From October through March, the track comes alive with athletes of all ages — from energetic Tiny Tots to determined teens and enthusiastic adults — all coming together to enjoy a morning of friendly competition, personal bests, and community spirit. With a full program of track and field events, plenty of encouragement, and a team of dedicated volunteers, our Saturday sessions are where skills are built, confidence grows, and lifelong memories are made. Whether you’re new to athletics or returning for another season, there’s no better way to start your weekend.

Capital Athletics Meets

In addition to our regular Saturday morning program, Ginninderra Athletics members aged 11 and up can take part in Capital Athletics Meets — official competitions held at ACT’s all-weather tracks throughout the season. These meets offer a fantastic opportunity to experience higher-level competition, set personal bests, and challenge yourself alongside athletes from other clubs across Canberra. With events running during both the summer and winter seasons, including track meets, cross country, and road events, there’s something for every athlete looking to take the next step in their athletics journey.
