Capital Athletics Meets

Capital Athletics

In addition to our regular Saturday morning program, Ginninderra Athletics members aged 11 and up can take part in regular Capital Athletics Meets — official competitions held at ACT’s all-weather tracks throughout the season. These meets offer a fantastic opportunity to experience higher-level competition, set personal bests, and challenge yourself alongside athletes from other clubs across Canberra. With events running during both the summer and winter seasons, including track meets, cross country, and road events, there’s something for every athlete looking to take the next step in their athletics journey.

Regular Capital Athletics Events

Summer Series & Winter Series

Capital Athletics host regular competitive meets called Summer Series or Winter Series (previously known as High Noon).
These meets host similar athletics events as Little Athletics weekly meets but on a competitive stage, generally at a synthetic track. Athletes registered as Dual Athlete, Open Athlete and Masters Dual athletes are able to participate at these events.

The difference with these events, is that they run to a program timetable and athletes are required to manage their time and events. Athletes are also required to check-in for all of their events upon arrival at the venue. Check-in can close from 30-60 minutes before an event commences. This allows for any changes to events such as race heat seedings to be made in time for athletes and officials to be notified.
