Thursday Training at Charnwood- note time change for Gary and Geoff’s session
Brians Bunch 4.30-5.30pm- distance focus
This week’s session with Gary and Geoff will be from 5.30-6.30pm as Gary has another commitment. This week we will start with sprint technique and move onto throws and horizontal jumps. This will be the last club training session for the season.
AGM and Presentation Saturday 29th March at 9.30am in the grass area between John Knight Park and Lake Ginninderra College.
AGM followed by presentation. There will be load of barrel prizes and face painting.
The BBQ will be going with free sausage sizzle for registered athletes and gold coin donation for other family members.
All committee positions will be spilled at the AGM and can go to a vote, even though the majority of executive members are keen to continue. Several general committee members will be standing down and we need new committee members with fresh ideas to ensure the club is in even better hands next season. Nominations for executive positions at the AGM can only be accepted if there are no other nominations. Please email if you would like to nominate for a position or would like more information. Or speak to Gary or Paul at the track.
The committee positions are president, vice president, registrar, secretary and general committee. General committee positions are usually assigned one or more responsibilities depending on interest and need.
Presentation
The awards are continually evolving to reflect that our club is a full-service club, with athletes from tiny tots through to masters, many of whom do not attend Saturday morning meets at Charnwood. This year, all members including those who have never competed on Saturday Mornings, will be invited to receive a participation medal.
The tiny tots’ medals will be awarded at the presentation, first up, instead of at the last meet, given that it is a family friendly time and venue.
Several of the major award criteria have been tweaked so that the awards can be won by all members, not just those who compete on Saturday Mornings.
We have also added another award to recognise Summer Series achievements in addition to the one that was added last season.
First, Second and Third will be awarded in all age groups from U6-U17 based on performances over the grass track season at Charnwood, as well as most improved.
There will be opportunities to collect awards after the presentation.
This Saturday Morning at Charnwood
Final meet for the season. Modified week 1 program to reflect age group requests. This will not count toward the point score to allow time for medals to be ready for the presentation.
8.45am Tiny tots, U6-U9 and junior coaches.
10am U10 and up.
Help is needed with set up from 7.30am. We need support as groups have selected high jump. Please email if you can assist as there is no age group rostered on. It would be great to have some first-time helpers given this is your final chance.
BBQ and Canteen help is also needed.
