Dear Gininderra Athletics Community,

We hope that you had a safe and enjoyable holiday season and are looking forward to the second half of the season.

First club meet for the new year. Saturday 18/1/25 at Charnwood

10am- U10 and up

This weeks’ parent set up roster is U13. Assistance required from 7.30am. Please help if you can to ensure we are able to start on time.

Half season memberships available.

If you know of anyone who is keen to join Ginninderra Athletics, reduced cost memberships are available. This should be ready to go on the Capital Athletics Website sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Training is back this week at Charnwood Playing Fields

Distance Interval Training with Brian’s Bunch- 4.30-5.30pm Tuesday and Thursdays

Hurdles/Sprint, Throws Training with Steve- 4pm-5pm on Wednesday

Combination of Track and Field Training Thursday 5-6pm with Gary and Geoff.

Summer Series 7 Results

In the 100m, Olivia Jose ran 13.27, Rose Zillar Cajetan ran 13.59 and Hannah Imhoff 14.52.

In the 200m, Rose Zillar Cajetan ran 28.74 and Hannah Imhoff 29.62.

In the ACT Women’s Mile Championships, Addi Hart was first in her age group in 5:25.23.

In the ACT Men’s Mile Championships. August Stanworth, by far the youngest in the field, ran a very impressive 5:53.50, Flynn Stanworth ran 5:30.20 and Riley Stanworth was first in his age group and among the top juniors in 5:02.97. Masters athlete, Sachin Nayak, ran 6:36.77 in his first ever Summer Series event.

In the 750g discus, Kyran Rolfe threw a PB of 19.36m and Spencer Dacey threw 19.06m in his first Summer Series event.

In the 1.75kg discus, Elijah Wilson threw a huge 54.02m in his first time throwing this weight.

In the 3kg Hammer, Spencer Dacey threw 18.09m in his first hammer competition.
