Many hands make light work! Our next Working Bee is locked in for Saturday 6 September 2025, kicking off at 3:00 pm at Charnwood Oval. These afternoons are a great way to pitch in, tidy up the club, tackle small projects, and make sure our facilities are in top shape for the season ahead. It’s also a chance to catch up with other members, share a laugh, and show pride in the club we all call home.
Event details
- When: Saturday 6 September 2025, 3:00–6:00 pm (drop in any time you can)
- Where: Charnwood Oval (Ginninderra home base)
- Who: Everyone! Athletes, parents, siblings, alumni, friends of the Tigers
- Why: Prepare our grounds and gear for a smooth start to the season
What we’ll work on
- Raking and topping up long jump pits
- Line-marking touch-ups and signage clean
- Weeding, sweeping, litter pick-up around the oval and paths
- Checking/cleaning hurdles, discus/shot areas, measuring gear
- Canteen and storage shed tidy + light inventory
- Minor paint/repair jobs (as needed)
What to bring (if you have them)
- Gloves, closed-toe shoes, hat, sunscreen, water bottle
- Garden tools (rakes, brooms, weeders), buckets, cloths
- Cordless drill/screwdriver, small tool kit
- Wheelbarrow or leaf bags (optional)
- The Kids are welcome!!
Safety & extras
- Please wear closed-toe shoes and sun protection.
- Young helpers are welcome under parent/guardian supervision.
- We’ll provide light refreshments to keep everyone going.
- Weather: We’ll proceed in light showers; in severe weather we’ll post any changes on our channels.
