Saturday Help

Got 10 minutes? That’s all it takes to make a difference.

Every Saturday morning at Ginninderra Athletics Club is a community effort — and we’d love your help to keep things running smoothly. You don’t need to be an expert or commit to a whole season. Just jump in where you can, when you can.

There’s something for everyone — whether you’re hands-on, organised, calm under pressure, or just really good at raking sand.

Ways to help on a Saturday:

  • Flip a sausage on the BBQ
  • Rake a long jump pit between rounds
  • Help put away a tent or a shade structure
  • Run the age group clipboard or wrangle a pack of 10-year-olds
  • Be our designated First Aider (if qualified)
  • Fix something on the trailer or tidy up the gear shed
  • Help walk the discus back or time a race with a smile

Whether it’s 10 minutes once a month or something more regular, every hand makes the load lighter — and the morning more fun.

Why it matters:

  • It helps us start and finish on time
  • It gives kids a safe, supported space to learn and grow
  • It shows our young athletes what community looks like

We’ll guide you on the day — no one gets thrown in without support. And we promise, there’s no such thing as a “silly question.”

Ready to pitch in?

Just come see one of our committee members or coaches at the start of the morning. Or keep an eye out for sign-up sheets or shout-outs in TeamApp.

It’s not about doing everything. Just something.
Because when everyone does a little, we achieve a lot.
